Greetings from Tokyo. Wait, I mean Tokio, ND. We had a good day of almost 100 miles by the time we got to where we are staying. The ride was pretty nice, though. We got rained on for the first time since we started riding over three weeks ago. We could see the cloud coming for about 30 minutes before it got there and it finally caught up to us around 2:30. It was so nice to bike in the rain. Strong winds at our back, nice cool rain. It was really great. Until it started to throwing lightning bolts. at that point we decided to call it quits.
Thankfully, God provided a great place for us to duck into cover at the Spirit Lake recreation center, on the Sioux Indian reservation. The guy running the facility was just fantastic to let us store our bikes for 20 minutes or so.
Tonight, we're staying at a retreat center that functions as a place for mission teams coming to the reservation to stay. Mike and Libby, the missionaries are taking good care of us.
Sorry, no pictures of the storm.... I didn't think it would get along with the water.
